The Problem

There’s a clear need for a reliable destination where artists can access essential information and resources to kickstart or advance their acting careers. Existing platforms are often prohibitively expensive, making it difficult for emerging talent to find affordable support. Additionally, there’s a lack of spaces that truly foster a sense of community, leaving many artists feeling isolated and without the peer support and networking opportunities crucial to their growth.

User Group 

Both established and aspiring actors, along with stakeholders in the performing arts realm, encompass photographers, agents, managers, and casting directors. These individuals and professionals play vital roles in shaping an actor’s career, making it essential for them to stay connected and informed within the industry.

The primary goal of the app is to create a unified and user-centric platform that seamlessly connects donors with charitable organizations and individuals in need, fostering a sense of community, transparency, and impact in the realm of charitable giving. The app aims to address the following key objectives:

Simplify Donor Engagement, Empower Charitable Organizations, enhance Transparency, Cater to Diverse Causes, Encourage Regular Giving, Amplify Social Impact,Educate and Inspire

The Goal

News and Social Media Hub Features

Two standout features of the app are the Social Media Hub and the News section. The Social Media Hub is designed specifically for the performing arts community, allowing users to connect with like-minded individuals. Unlike typical social media platforms that cater to everyone, this hub focuses on building a network of people within the industry. Users can share tips, celebrate achievements, collaborate on projects, and expand their professional circles while learning from one another.

The News section provides industry updates and articles that offer valuable career insights, including tips and strategies to help users advance in their careers

Pursuing an acting career demands continuous reinvention and sharing that growth with the world. She seeks a quicker, more accessible path to her goals, aware of the financial challenges of audition-centric work. Reducing the stress of finding resources is crucial, as is being part of a supportive, positive community that thrives on mutual help and shared success.

Activities:

She uses social media and online tools to explore platforms like Actors Access, LA Casting, and Backstage, searching for essentials such as managers, agents, casting directors, acting classes, coaching, audition taping, photography, and vital industry information like breakdowns and roles. However, relying on word-of-mouth limits her ability to fully explore and utilize available resources

Successes:

From one of these platforms, she managed to secure direct contact information for a handful of managers and agents. Employing the tactic of a "cold email," she adeptly showcased her materials. This strategic approach resulted in a pivotal outcome: securing a meeting that ultimately culminated in her signing with an agent.

Frustrations:

Having acquired direct contact details for a selection of managers and agents via one of the platforms, she proceeded to employ the technique of "cold emailing" to adeptly introduce her portfolio. As a direct result of this strategic outreach, she not only successfully secured a meeting but also achieved the significant milestone of signing with an agent

This next stage of prototyping serves as a critical transitional phase in the design process, bridging the gap between early, low-fidelity concepts and the final high-fidelity product. Usability Testing

You have already signed up for the app. You have built a profile and entered all of your personal information such as- age range, ethnicity and gender. The app algorithm has matched the breakdowns to the information you have provided about yourself. Now…As an actor it is very important to self-submit for auditions. Please go and review the available auditions.

Now that you have reviewed the breakdowns page it is time to submit yourself for an audition. You have decided to submit only for TV roles at the moment, therefor you will need to filter the breakdowns to achieve this goal. After you have done so, please review the role and submit yourself.

You’ve cut and colored your hair therefore you need to get new headshots. Go to the app and find a photographer who specializes in headshots that matches your budget.

After reviewing the photographer profile, it is time to contact them to book your session Please send a message to your preferred profile

You have decided to work on your comedy skills please go on the app and find the class of your choice by filtering the ones who specializing in comedy. Please review their profile. Once you done return to the homepage
